The Women’s Resource Fair is a wonderful annual project of the Austin Young Lawyers’ Association and Foundation, originally founded and organized by the fantastic local attorney, Liz Branch. Liz came to Austin from San Diego, where the local bar organization has a similar program, and she worked tirelessly to marshal resources and service providers to create the Fair in Austin nine years ago.
The Women’s Resource Fair is a one-day program that benefits homeless and battered women by providing free legal assistance, medical care (including onsite mammograms), mental health services, job and educational counseling, debt counseling, social services, clothing, and haircuts.
This year’s Women’s Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, May 7th, at the Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center in Austin. Joelle will be volunteering at the event and would love to see you there too. http://www.austinbar.org/young-lawyers/projects/womens-resource-fair/
